In Ireland, Vermilion’s operations are exclusively focused in the Corrib gas field. We believe that natural gas is a key component of the energy mix in Ireland, as it is the most environmentally friendly fossil fuel and allows for a secure, reliable and cost-effective supply of energy and provides significant benefits to the Irish economy.
In addition to energy security, the Corrib gas field provides:
Vermilion holds an 18.5% interest in Corrib, with CPPIB (Canada Pension Plan Investment Board) holding a 45% non-operated interest and Equinor holding a 36.5% non-operated interest. Vermilion has entered into an operating agreement with CPPIB and Statoil.
